Treehole is a free, anonymous online tree hole — a quiet place to whisper the thing you can’t say to anyone. You type or speak a secret, release it, and your words drift into a glowing tree and dissolve into the stars. Nothing is ever saved.
A ritual for letting go, not a record
Treehole isn’t a social network or a journal. There are no replies, no feed, no likes and no history. The whole point is release — the small relief of finally saying the confession, worry, grief, intrusive thought or crush you’ve been holding in, and then watching it dissolve. What you let go of is gone.
How your privacy is protected
- No account, no login, no email. You never identify yourself.
- Your words never leave your browser. The secret text is wiped the instant you release it — it is never transmitted to or stored on any server, not even by us.
- No database of messages exists. The only things stored are anonymous aggregate counters: how many whispers have been released, how many trees are growing, and how many whispers happened today.
- An anonymous id lives only in your browser so your own tree persists across visits.
Every whisper grows a tree
Each whisper you release grows your personal tree one step through six stages — Seedling,
Sapling, Young tree, Flourishing, Elder and Ancient. Your tree is generated deterministically
from your anonymous id, so it looks the same every time, and a shared link
(treehole.ai/t/your-id) reproduces it exactly at its current size. Sharing your
tree also grows it — a gentle way to invite a friend to plant their own.
